I wanted to write a song about what love is really like when you commit to another person and you realise that you have to learn to love their flaws in order to be happy.

Our culture is very keen on airbrushing out the uglier aspects of life, and so we grow up feeling dissatisfied with our own imperfect bodies, homes, jobs, lives. I feel like we could have a lot more fun if we could relax a bit with the disappointment of how things actually are.

The song was recorded using one complete vocal take and one complete instrumental take with no edits. I wanted it to reach the listener as one complete, genuine expression that came from the heart.
